Joining or Managing an Organisation

Organisations let NHS Trusts, hospitals, universities and training providers give their staff or students Premium-level access under one subscription. This article covers joining, registering a new organisation, and signing in through your institution.

Joining by invitation

Your organisation administrator invites you by email. Open the message and click the link. Create an account, or sign in if you already have one, and your organisation access is applied automatically.

If the link does not open from your email client, copy it and paste it into the Invitation code field at /invite. Invitations are personal to the email address they were sent to.

There is no automatic enrolment by email domain. Having an @nhs.net or university address does not join you to an organisation on its own; you need an invitation or institutional sign-in.

Signing in through your institution

If your university or NHS organisation is a member of the UK Access Management Federation and has been set up with us:

1. On the login page, find Institutional access.
2. Click Continue with UK Federation.
3. Search for your institution and select it.
4. Sign in with your usual institutional credentials. You are returned to PathologyLabTraining signed in.

We are registered on the UK Access Management Federation as https://pathologylabtraining.co.uk/saml/sp. Your IT team can point their identity provider at our published metadata; see SAML single sign-on setup.

Registering a new organisation

Anyone can register an organisation at /register-organization. Registration creates the organisation and starts a 30-day free trial with full Premium access for the people you invite. When the trial ends, the organisation dashboard shows a notice with Request a quote and Upgrade now options. See Organisation administration for what happens next.

For administrators

If you manage your organisation, open Organisations → Organisation dashboard in the navigation bar to:

• Invite members one at a time or in bulk (paste one email address per line)
• See cohort-level analytics; individual results are only visible when a learner has chosen to share them
• Manage the subscription, quotes, purchase orders and invoices
• Add custom questions and content for your own members
• Ask us to enable single sign-on for your institution

Leaving an organisation

There is no self-serve "Leave organisation" button, and Account Settings has no Organisation tab. To leave:

• Easiest path: ask your organisation administrator to remove you from the Team tab of the organisation dashboard.
• No administrator available, or you are the only administrator: email [email protected] from your account email and we will remove you and, if needed, help you nominate a replacement administrator or close the organisation.

In both cases your account and personal progress stay intact; only the organisation-tier access is removed.
