Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 October 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using PathologyLabTraining ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.
2. Description of Service
PathologyLabTraining provides:
- Training for NHS biomedical science roles: virtual laboratory simulations, laboratory information management system (LIMS) simulators and result interpretation practice
- Interview preparation: a specialty-specific question bank with model answers, practice tests and an AI interview coach
- Career and professional development support, including STP preparation, CPD records and portfolio tracking
- Educational articles and reference content
- Organisation accounts for universities and NHS employers, with member management and progress dashboards
3. Educational Use Only
Content, simulations and AI feedback are for education and interview preparation. They are not clinical, diagnostic or professional advice, and must not be used for patient care.
4. User Accounts and Registration
You must be 18 or over to create an account.
To access certain features, you must create an account by providing:
- Valid email address
- Secure password
- First and last name
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
5. Subscription Plans and Payments
Free Plan: Limited access to basic features and selected questions.
Premium Plans: Full access to all content, features, and tools.
- Weekly, biweekly, monthly and yearly subscription options
- Card payments in pounds are processed by Stripe, and those subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them
- Payments in Naira are processed by Paystack. The weekly and monthly Naira plans are one-off purchases for a fixed period and do not renew
- The Naira 24-hour trial needs a card: you pay a small charge for the day, and the trial then becomes a monthly subscription in Naira that renews until you cancel it
- For subscriptions paid by card through Stripe, we email you before you are charged again: at least 7 days before a yearly renewal, at least once every six months for weekly, biweekly and monthly plans (before the next renewal), and before a 24-hour free trial paid by card through Stripe converts to a paid plan. We do not send this reminder for Naira (Paystack) payments
- Cancel any time from your account settings; access continues until the end of the period you have paid for
- 7-day money-back guarantee on monthly and annual plans: if you are not satisfied, request a refund from your account settings, or email [email protected], within 7 days of your first payment and we will refund that payment to your original payment method. Weekly and fortnightly plans are not covered; you can cancel them at any time
Your right to cancel. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel a contract for digital content. Before checkout we ask whether you want access to start straight away. If you ask for that and confirm that you understand the consequence, the 14-day right to cancel ends when your access starts. We record that consent and confirm it in the email we send after payment.
This does not affect our 7-day money-back guarantee, your right to cancel future renewals at any time, or your statutory rights if the service is faulty or not as described.
6. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to:
- Share your account credentials with others
- Copy, distribute, or reproduce content without permission
- Use the service for any illegal or unauthorised purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
- Upload malicious code or content
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the service
7. Intellectual Property Rights
All content, including but not limited to questions, answers, explanations, images, and software, is owned by PathologyLabTraining or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.
You may quote short passages from our public articles, and search engines and AI assistants may cite them, provided you credit PathologyLabTraining and link to the page quoted. All other rights are reserved.
8. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
We comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) for cookies and marketing emails.
9. Limitation of Liability
If you are a consumer, we provide the service with reasonable care and skill, and the content will be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, as the law requires. If something is wrong, tell us at [email protected] and we will put it right or, where we cannot, refund you as the law requires.
If you use the service through an organisation (for example a university or an NHS trust) that pays for your access, the organisation's quote, purchase order or signed agreement with us sets the service terms between us and the organisation. Unless that document says otherwise, the service is provided to the organisation "as is".
We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when you started using the service, or for any business losses.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for your access in the 12 months before the claim, whether you paid it or an organisation paid it for you.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, and nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for any breach of these Terms.
You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.
If you do not use your account for 2 years, we may delete it. We email you at least 30 days before, and signing in keeps your account. Our Privacy Policy explains how this works.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change affects your rights or what you pay (for example prices, what your plan includes, or how cancellation works), we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect and we will refund any part of a payment that covers the time after it.
Minor changes that do not affect your rights, such as clearer wording or corrected contact details, take effect when we post them. The date at the top of this page shows when the Terms last changed.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live.
